Freelance composer, musician and musicologist based in Kassel, Germany. His primary artistic fields are New Music, non-European music and jazz with a special focus on Minimal Music and Javanese Gamelan music.
Founder of the Ensemble in process (1985) and artistic director of the International Minimal Music Festival and the Gamelan Festival Kassel.

Abschlusskonzert 1 des gemeinsamen Projektes beider Gamelan-Ensembles, veranstaltet vom ZfIM. Das Konzert enthält zwei separate Hälften: die erste Hälfte ist dem traditionellen javanischen Gamelan (Karawitan) gewidmet, die zweite Hälfte zeitgenössischer Gamelanmusik.

In zwei Konzerten in Kassel wird ein neues Programm erarbeitet, das den Gesang zum zentralen Element der Präsentation macht. Werke aus allen Epochen der Historie des musikalischen Minimalismus werden hierbei ausgewählt. Dabei werden auch gänzlich neue Werke aus dem 21. Jahrhundert miteinbezogen, aber auch ein mittelalterliches Organum.

Ensemble in process
The 12-member ensemble in process from Kassel remains one of the few minimal music ensembles in Europe. In the 40-year history of this group, works from all phases of musical minimalism have been developed and presented in 400 concerts, not only nationwide. Multimedia projects are just as much a part of in process's work as lecture concerts and workshops. GG – Götte/Gerwin-Duo
Thomas Gerwin und Ulli Götte bilden seit vielen Jahren ein bundesweit konzertierendes Duo. Sie agieren in ihrer Performance zwischen Improvisation und Komposition. Klavier, Perkussion, Gamelan-Instrumente, "gefundene Objekte" und Live-Elektronik sind das Instrumentarium des Duos mit einem breiten Spektrum zeitgenössischer Klänge und Spieltechniken.

Ulli Götte, born 1954 in Kassel, studied musicology and music education (1975–1983). Composition studies with Edward Cowie (1980–81). In 1988 he completed his doctorate in musicology with a thesis on twelve-tone theorist and composer Josef Matthias Hauer.
Lectureships at the universities of Kassel, Oldenburg, Hildesheim and Bielefeld. International activities including guest professorships in Hiroshima (2013, 2015) and lectureships at ISI Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Since 2017 he has been involved in the education programme at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Numerous chamber music and orchestral works, solo pieces, multimedia projects, compositions for gamelan and sound installations. In his minimalist compositions, Götte combines the idea of gradual process with elements of European, African and non-European music.
